3 Day BYO upholstery project workshop , 9.30-4.30, 1 hr break for lunch (18 hours of guided workshop time).
Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2025.
This is for you if you have a 'bigger' project or have attended a one day course and now want to tackle something more technically difficult. It's a workshop for 'bigger' projects, not necessarily bigger in size, but in scale, where there is time to web, to stitch and stuff, lash springs, to add buttons or nails etc.
Use of Tools on the day, and sundries (Tacks, staples, glue, twine, calico, hessian, polywadding) included for use on the day.
Tea, coffee & biscuits provided. (Upholstery is unquestionably easier to learn after a gingernut).
Venue : Paddock Studios, Lewes, note the Studio is up a flight of stairs and you will need to transport your project to and from class.
This is a small group session with people working on their own projects. I will be guiding people through modern and traditional upholstery techniques, answering questions and sharing information across the projects, the aim is that everyone learns from the collective experience.
A few things to note :
- Please send me a photo of your project so I can confirm whether it is suitable prior to booking - and we can agree what might reasonably achieved, what additional materials might need to be ordered (charged at cost) and if there is any prep work to be done
- Students bring their own upholstery weight top fabric - p
lease avoid suede & leather
- Everyone will have their own set of tools for use on the day (We will be sharing electric staple guns sewing machines).
